Weekly Reminders...

*Wednesday and Thursday this week are half days of school.  This is a 12:00 dismissal.  Please send in a morning snack still.  If your child is attending after care then please pack extra snacks and a lunch for them!

*Friday is the last day of school!  This is an 11:00 dismissal.  There is NO after care today!  NO book bags or lunch boxes are needed today!

*Please remember when sending in your re-registration form to include the $150 re-registration fee. 

*1st grade has gym every Friday this year.  Please wear gym uniforms to school on Fridays.

*The children will need to be responsible for remembering if they are buying lunch or not.  If you feel as if your child will have a hard time remembering then please send me an email or a note at the beginning of each week to let me know what specific days your child is purchasing lunch.   

*Remember that all paper stories do count as a homework assignment when they come home.  The child should be reading it to someone in the house.  The adult that it was read to should be signing or initialing it on the front cover.  It gets sent back to school for credit.  At the end of each trimester it will count as an oral reading grade.

First Day of School

Hello new first graders!



The first day of school is Tuesday, September 4th.  Please note that this is a FULL DAY of school.  (7:45-2:45).

Cafeteria service will begin on the first day, and on the menu is popcorn chicken with a hash brown.  If your child is buying lunch on the first day please be sure to send money into school to put in your child's lunch account.


Children will need to bring the following items on their first day…

*Book bag filled with all school supplies needed (leave the clear contact paper at home).

*Lunch box filled with a morning snack and a lunch if your child is not buying one.  

*1 reading book log if your child completed one.


Please be sure that children’s names are somewhere on their book bag and lunch box as well as any school sweaters or gym sweatshirts.


Looking ahead:  This year first grade will have gym every FRIDAY.  Children should wear their gym uniforms every Friday this school year.

Also, back to school night is Thursday, September 6 at 5:30.  At least one parent should attend this important night.  You are to report directly to your child's classroom.  When we are finished in the classroom we will all head over to Crowley Hall for an important meeting with Mr. Zitz starting at 6:15.

Weekly Reminders...  

*We will take our last trip to the New Castle Library this week on Wednesday at 1:15.

*The 5K run is this Thursday, May 25.  1st grade is sending in granola bars.  If you are donating these items please send them in before the night of the race.  

*The following things are happening this Friday:  All box tops are due!  The Dance Marathon is Friday so the children will need to pay 5$ for the donation to this important cause.  The 5$ will also allow y our child to dress down.  It is also a half day of school.  12:00 dismissal.  Please send in morning snacks still.

*School is closed on Monday, May 29 for Memorial Day!

1st Grade Supply List

This year our school has partnered with the "Class Bundl" program to make the purchasing of school supplies quick and easy from the comfort of your own home.  The Bundl Program is connected to your FACTS account for anyone who is on this payment plan already, it gives a discount, it gives our school credit, and your supplies will be delivered to your front door.  Go to www.classbundl.com/order and search for our school:  St Peter the Apostle.  Click on our school name, click on supplies, click on your child's up and coming grade, fill out your child's information, read the teacher notes, and click on the green "Add bundl to cart" button.  Supplies will then be delivered to your house.  

If you wish to purchase your own school supplies, here is the list of items you will need to buy.

Grade 1:  Supply List
*2 folders of your child's choice
*A pair of scissors (safety ones)
*Box of at least 24 sharpened pencils
*2 erasers
*10 glue sticks
*Liquid glue
*2 packs of 24 crayons
*Pencil case
*Headphones (Put these in a plastic bag with your child's name on it.)
*Roll of paper towels
*2 boxes of tissues
*Hand sanitizer
*2 Clorox wipes containers
*Clear contact paper (Maybe like 3/4 rolls...keep this item at home for book covering.)

Summer Projects:  There is nothing mandatory this summer, but please read with your child as much as possible.  If your child chooses to complete the optional book log this summer, then he/she will be rewarded a prize on the first day of school.  Please send the book log in on day 1 only for this prize to be rewarded.  If you have any questions please feel free to email me:  moran@stpeternewcastle.org

Weekly Reminders...

*If your child has a summer birthday we will celebrate them on Monday!  Send in a treat of your child's choice.

*There is a half day on Wednesday, 12:00 dismissal.  No snacks or lunch are needed as we will have our end of the year celebration today.

*Thursday is the last day of school!  We have Mass at 8:00 and dismissal is at 11:00.  Eat a good breakfast!  No snacks or lunch needed today!

*The children have been doing a great job remembering if they are buying lunch or not.  Notes are no longer needed unless you are more comfortable or need to tell me specific things regarding lunch/snack purchases.

First Day of School

Donald Back to school

Hello new first graders!

The first day of school is Tuesday, August 25.  Please note that this is a FULL DAY of school.  My apologies, as the summer packet listed it as being a half day, it is indeed a full day (7:45-2:50).

Children will need to bring the following items on their first day…

*Book bag filled with all school supplies needed (leave the clear contact paper at home)

*Lunch box filled with a morning snack and a full lunch

*2 book reports completed and a picture to go with each one (leave the books at home)

*1 math packet completed

*copybook money and any other supply money

*Please be sure that children’s names are somewhere on their book bag and lunch box
